In 1911, Charles C. Gates acquired a tire and rubber company and set up shop in Denver, Colorado.

Over a century later, the company has more than 15,000 employees and over 100 locations in 30 countries.
Gates works with more than 150,000 suppliers in 18 countries. The company supplies spare parts to 40 automobile companies. Today, Gates owns the 52% in the gas distribution mechanism (GDM) parts market. All Gates products comply with a number of international standards: EAQF, QS 9000, ISO 14001, VDA, TS 16949.
